Which wolf are you feeding?

I’ve shared this parable before (a long time ago)… but want to share it from a slightly different perspective.  I love love love this parable.

Tale of the two wolves….

The story features two characters: a grandfather and his grandson. The grandfather explains to his grandson that there are two wolves fighting within him.

The conversation between the two men goes like this:

“I have a fight going on in me,” the old man said. “It’s taking place between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

The grandfather looked at the grandson and went on. “The other embodies positive emotions. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. Both wolves are fighting to the death. The same fight is going on inside you and every other person, too.”

The grandson took a moment to reflect on this. At last, he looked up at his grandfather and asked, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee gave a simple reply. “The one you feed.”

—— END ——

All of us, me included, can often CHOOSE to listen to the wolf within you that believes that you can’t, that you’re not able or capable – essentially the wolf living in FEAR.  And with the fear comes anger, regret, sorrow, frustration, pain, resentment, rage and so much more.

All of us, me included too, can TRAIN yourself to listen to the wolf with you that believes you can, that looks for the evidence that you ARE able, that chooses to believe in yourself and your capabilities.  The wolf that becomes joy, happiness, contentment, fulfilled and trusting.

And yes, I’m sure you might be questioning whether you have a wolf that believes in you.

But I know you do.

It’s the wolf that tells your friend or partner or kids to ‘fuck that shit’, ‘set that boundary’, ‘you can do it’, ‘speak up’, ‘go for it’.

That wolf is there.  It’s well trained.  It knows what’s what.  It knows what to do.

The only thing you need to do is learn to WORK WITH IT and listen to it.

You can read all the self development you want but I truly believe that all of you, me ALSO included, need support to really make the changes that you want to support you to lead the life that you want to.

I’ve realised that what I’ve been teaching people to do over the last few years is moving from anxiety to confidence.

Confidence to believe that they can DO whatever you choose to do rather than be controlled by fear.

If you’re ready to feed and engage and work with the wolf to support you to be more confident, ESPECIALLY if you can recognise yourself as an introvert/highly sensitive person/mask as an extrovert… get in touch and find out about my pilot BeYou programme. It starts at the end of this month, Thursday lunchtimes between 1pm-2pm and is £99 for the pilot.

Much love, Tricia xxxx
